Do you want a great SaaS website?
SaaS, or Software as a Service has become a booming business with many clients because it is something that can be offered from anywhere in the world. Instead of having to have someone come in and install the software it is readily available to anyone who pays to use it.
A huge part of building a SaaS business is building the website. It is the first thing that clients will see from the business and it is what will make them decide between you and the competitor so, besides the product itself, it is the most important thing to focus on.
“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” –Tony Robbins
The first goal of a SaaS website is obviously to sell the software. However, there are secondary goals that are also important while attempting to run a successful SaaS website. These are things like gathering customer emails, promoting your brand, and posting about job opportunities and careers to name a few.
This means that the first thing that your website needs is a great sales pitch. This will be something that tells the potential client what makes you different and why you are better than the competitor. It should be a one-line hook that catches people’s eye and makes them trust your software.
There should also be a call to action tied into that sales pitch or somewhere close to it. For example, you could make your sales pitch based around the client joining the number of people who use your software.
Simplicity when it comes to your website design is key. You should not have any pop-ups that you need to click out of before you access the website because these will simply be barriers and cause the potential client to click out. Instead you should create a clean website where you can access everything with a few clicks. This allows the potential client to see everything about your company in a matter of minutes.
It´s all about design
The most critical part of the design is the homepage. The homepage of any website is like the business front and gives your clients their first impression of your business and services. Your homepage should be warm and inviting while also giving a realistic view into your business and why you are the people for the job.
Again it should be easy to click and read anything from your homepage so you should not implement anything like banners or pop-ups that will impede browsing. Something that you will want to implement is a button or a link that ties into the call to action and makes the process of signing up that much easier.
The most important thing to remember when designing your SaaS website is that you are trying to convey to the potential customer how beneficial your product is going to be for them and you don’t have to go overboard with the theatrics to do that. After you get the design layout down you can add pictures of the software as well as video tutorials that show how the software performs.
